I thought it would be prudent to theme this week's post around the root canal I had on Wednesday. While I'd initially been leary about having a large hole drilled in my tooth, the pulp sucked out and re-filled, Dr Wang and her hygenist Danny made the experience not only painless, but actually quite pleasant and fun with their amusing conversation.
While I didn't succeed in getting an "after" shot, I did get a copy of the "before" X-Ray of my tooth.
What you're seeing is a shot of "tooth 47" (second from the left). It has a small (white blob) filling in it at the top. The decay that needed to be treated is to the right of that and directly across from the giant filling in the tooth beside it (that giant white blob)
It's too bad I don't have a copy of the "after" shot showing the artificial filling that has replaced the pulp in the three roots, because it's pretty neat.
Oh well.

That reminds me - I need to go the dentist to get a gold tooth. A few years ago I was kicked rather hard in the face by lowly street thugs and one of my teeth just hasn't been the same since.

In answer to Flygirl's question - I got the x-ray because I brought the hard copy of the x-ray from my dentist to the surgeon's office, so I had a chance to scan it.
ReplyDeleteI asked the surgeon if I could get a copy of the "after" x-ray ($80 after all), and she agreed, but we all forgot once it was time to settle up the total bill (which hurt more than the root canal)
